One Nite @ Airport
In the not so distant past, four of us were returning home after watching Billu. Guess it is one of those times of the day when temporary insanity grips people. Now, lambu had this real brainstorm idea of going to the BIAL at the dead of the night. The mode of transport to reach there…not the usual bikes…but public transport. The reason…the guys were tired with all the driving through the Bangalore roads. They wanted to just sit back and relax. Did the rest of us even pause to think of idea…nahhh…we were too busy agreeing to the plan. So there began our trip….
After getting the must haves for the trip…which is nothing more than our jackets n wallets.. we were waiting on the outer ring road for the BIAL bus to materialise. Not the one’s to miss an opportunity to capture ourselves on camera…we spent 20 minutes doing just that. Now never mind people driving on the road at that time took us to be freaks. We were having the time of our life. After almost 40 minutes, we were getting a tad bit tired of all the fiasco of waiting. Just when we were about to change our plan, a call taxi zooms in from no where and stops in front of us. After haggling for a few minutes with the driver…we decide we shall take it. Its important that we reach BIAL, we agreed.
The 45 min to 1 hr drive took us zooming through the highway. Whilst we were very busy discussing just about everything under the sun and our plans once we reach the destination, I am pretty sure the driver must have freaked out. Not to mention he had to endure the 20 questions routine by Lambu. J By the time we tumbled out of the taxi, I am sure he must me thanking his lucky stars for getting rid of the weirdos that we were.
The time to explore and learn has come, and we were raring to go.
Do you guys want a floor map of the lay out of the airport. I am sure all of us can give you that with our eyes closed. Maybe this would explain to you the extent our exploration. While me and sweety were suddenly musing over the absurdity of the whole plan, lambu and gullu were getting ready for their photo shoot. It took us a while we could get their pics shot to perfection. Having thoroughly exploring the arrivals and departures, we decided its time to explore the lush green lawns. With due modesty I must confess we shot the best pictures. We had a few pics of lambu and gullu defying gravity. It took us considerable effort to actually capture it. One masterpiece was lambu lending a helping hand to a Kingfisher flight. Another was me stopping the control tower from toppling down. J Gullu gave us his best Matrix shot and sweety her best smile J Next came the herculian task where lambu and sweety wanted to push me around the airport in a trolley. Must say…it took a lot of courage from their part to attempt it J
Then the hunger bug bit us. We doubled back to grab something to eat. With me being a quintessential connoisseur of coffee, it goes without question that the nearest Coffee Day was my destination. Gullu decided to keep me company and we had the best cappuccino. Lambu and sweety decided to do some brand endorsement for subway. After getting the just perfect subs, courtesy the excellent specifications from lambu, we had the best subs. A pity we could not enjoy them. We had this menace of all the dogs coming for us from all directions and it was all that me and sweety could do from jumping the gun and doing a vanishing act. Not to mention, we had the sauces trickling down our fingers and onto our dresses. But I must say, it was fun.
It was 3 am in the morning and our batteries were begging to shut down. While we were waiting for our transport, lambu took me for a vroom along the waiting aisles in a trolley. It was reminiscent of the days in a pram J. It was then my turn of ramming the trolley with sweety into gullu’s. Dhiskaaaooonnn…..we played the mock accident. When at last our transport materialised, it was all we could do before crashing. While sweety slept blissfully throughout the journey, gullu and lambu were busy chatting up about the old times. What I do in all this?? Well I was busy thinking up the title for this blog….and then just before we were about to get down at our destination, it struck me…. One night @ airport a la one night @ call centre types …….
